9:00am Beginning Middle Eastern Dance/warm up taught by THL Adalasia Serena. Basic warm-up and stretching routine using Middle Eastern dance foundation moves. Open to all ages and genders. Wear loose clothing or garb.
10:00am Dance of the Near and Middle East in Period, Extrapolations from art taught by Baroness Hauviette d'Anjou (aka Zubaida Qilichlu Qari bint Abed al Kadir).
1:00-2:00pm Youth English Country Dancing taught by Lady Vinca Taviani. A beginning dance class for children and youth (ages 6+) to learn ECD steps, counting, rhythm, and some simple beginner dances.
2:00-4:00pm Open dancing and teaching with Lady Vinca Taviani. No set titles, just whatever people want to do!
10:00am Beginning Embroidery Stitches to Decorate and Hide Hems taught by THL Adalasia Serena. All levels. Quick, easy, and colorful stitches that will hide machine stitching on early period garb. Some supplies available on first come basis. If you can, please bring a hoop, scrap material, and needle.
11:30am-1:00pm "Textile Meet & Greet" for people intereted in sewing, embroidery, knitting, naalbinding, or any other textile art to come and share projects or work on projects.
1:00-3:00pm Karakumi: Early-Period Japanese Braids taught by Fujinami no Kaede-sama (THL). This class discusses karakumi, a complex flat braid dating to the 9th century Japan. The class includes a discussion of the stand, braiding technique, and how the braids were used. While this class is predominantly a lecture, it will include some demonstration as time permits. Note: I only have a very limited number of braiding stands, but I will give everyone who is interested a chance to try.
2:00pm Glasswork Beads taught by Lord Seitz Kirbrich. *Please note that this class will be in the small shelter, not the main A&S tent
3:00pm Andelcrag Brewer's Guild Meeting
